The Story of the Neptune Sea Otters and Their Rowing Boat

One lovely sunny spring day in Little Eleville, the Neptune sea otters were enjoying the day at the beautiful beach. They lived in a small cottage 5 minute walk away and are always spotted in their little rowing boat and making sand castles in the sand!!

This day was no different; Caspian was teaching his eldest daughter how to row the boat. Shelly was getting much better at it now than when she had her first lesson two weeks ago… all she did was a lot of splish splash splosh! “That’s it you’re doing really well” Caspian said to his daughter every now and again to encourage her.

Nerissa was watching her baby sandy making sand castles in the sand… this was Sandy’s favourite activity!

Meanwhile the Beaufort polar bears were traveling in the burgundy car, through the country lanes. Father Sven was driving and discussing with his wife where to go on this lovely day.

The children Valentine and Verity were also talking… “Daddy, can we go and visit the Neptunes at the beach please??” asked Verity “Well I can’t see why not, we are only 10 minutes’ drive so let’s go!” Sven replied

10 minutes later, the Beaufort polar bears arrived at the beach… To see the Neptune’s having a lot of fun… “Verity look… Shelly’s rowing their little rowing boat!!!” stated Valentine… “Ooo I wonder if she will take one of us in it?”

Shelly heard the car and spotted her friends Valentine and Verity, and started to wave at them.

Her dad Caspian then helped her to bring the boat back into shore.

Before too long Sven said “let’s get out the car and go and meet them...” Sven also made sure to take the suitcase with him.

Nerissa and Vania sat on the picnic rug while they watched the babies having fun in the sand…

Sven and Caspian decided to see if they could catch some fish on the sea edge, who knows what they will catch.

Verity and Valentine were asking shelly if they could take a trip in the boat as they were really excited seeing her rowing!! Shelly had another idea, “maybe before we go on the boat… as our dads are fishing… why don’t we collect some shells?” “Hmmm that sounds like a good idea” they said together

Before long Verity, Valentine and Shelly found loads of shells on the beach and put them in their bucket… it ended being very full! “Wow look at all those shells, aren’t they beautiful.”

“Wow kids, how full is that bucket with shells… you’ve got loads of pretty treasure there!” Caspian said as he pulled another fish out of the sea! “Mm looks like we have some lovely fish for tea, Yum…” Sven said

As the fathers took the fish to their wife’s

The children decided it was time for a trip in the rowing boat!! “Right lets go to the boat… I hope we will all fit in!!”

Shelly sat at the oars, Valentine sat in the middle and Verity sat on the other side. “Yay we all fit in!”

5 minutes later the children shouted to their parents… “Look at us!! Oh this is so much fun!!” They all said together. The parents looked and smiled but Caspian was a little worried as shelly had only learnt two weeks ago… “Well done Shelly you’re doing really well!!”

Before long the children rowed the boat to their families and got out. Sven and Vania said "it was a lovely trip but soon it was time for the twin’s bedtime and they needed to head home".

The children all said goodbye, Valentine and Verity took two shells home and their father Sven was allowed to take one of the fishes home for their tea.

 The End
